About us

That indus­try as a whole is com­posed of more than 1,000 raw mate­r­i­al pro­duc­ers, con­vert­ers, addi­tive sup­pli­ers, recy­clers, and machin­ery man­u­fac­tur­ers, most of them small- and medi­um-sized enter­pris­es (SMEs). They gen­er­ate year­ly sales of more than 5 bil­lion euros and direct­ly employ more than 60,000 peo­ple across Europe.

We span the full EPS life cycle from raw mate­ri­als pro­duc­tion to pack­ag­ing man­u­fac­tur­ing and recycling.

Cur­rent­ly at 18 mem­bers, we wel­come oth­ers who share our vision of a suc­cess­ful, sus­tain­able EPS indus­try in Europe. Smart Pack­ag­ing Europe coop­er­ates and coor­di­nates close­ly with the Euro­pean Man­u­fac­tur­ers of Expand­ed Poly­styrene (EUMEPS), the asso­ci­a­tion that rep­re­sents the EPS indus­try as a whole.
